This year, many of the kids I photograph happen to be turning five and starting school at the same time. It’s a big deal! Drew is one of those kids and he is kind of a big deal! And so is his sister Emily. She turned one this spring and also started to walk. During our shoot, she just wanted to strut her stuff with the help of mom or dad. For this shoot, we brought everything but the kitchen sink – just kidding! It just ended up being two wagons full of items we’d envisioned. Nancy and I both have a love for vintage quilts, and I had a teepee I had wanted to use, and I’m glad I did because it was a real hit with Drew. Whenever he wasn’t having his photo taken, he said “I’ll be over in the tent.” Ha ha. Truthfully, we did this session in two takes. The first time, Emily wasn’t feeling well but the second time around, she was herself again and it was great to see her smiling and happily stomping around. It so was great to see you all of you again!
